In the second half of next year, three ŠMT machines will arrive in war-torn Ukraine.

Two special lathes and one horizontal boring machine will operate at a factory of an engineering manufacturer in the Uzhhorod region in the western part of the country. The contract ranges in the higher units of EUR million.

It is another order that ŠMT provides for Ukraine. This year, the company has already successfully completed the assembly and delivery of the HCW3000 horizontal boring machine for a customer in the Ukrainian city of Krivoj Rog.

"This year has been commercially successful for the company. We managed to win several contracts in the domestic market and within the EU countries. For example, this involved a modernization of a horizontal boring machine for our important customer in Germany, the complete supply of a workplace with two rotary tables for a renowned manufacturer of gearboxes from the Pilsen region, and a modernization of a portal workplace for a subsidiary of an American generator manufacturer," ŠMT CEO Pavel Košař summarized. ŠMT also supplies equipment overseas, for example to a producer of the largest wind turbines in the world located in China. ŠMT also returned to markets in India and is strengthening in South Korea and Europe.

Contracts worth 800 million CZK have already been signed this year. " It is thus approaching the usual sales of approximately one billion CZK from the period before the start of the war in Ukraine. We see this as a positive signal, as we successfully substitute the Russian market, which we left in 2022," says the CEO. According to him, there has recently been a noticeable market restart in the energy sector and the transport segment, where SMT machines are most commonly used. In this regard, the investment activity of large companies in the Pilsen region is also extremely favourable.
